It’s getting really hard to get a grip on the dating services that are coming out recently, as in whether they operate “above board” with you, the customer’s best interests at heart.

We only have to go back a  few months when FaceBook (www.facebook.com) was attempting to track members actitivities, even off-site, and let others know what you were doing. Extremely upsetting. But this is just the part w eknow about… not necessarily pointing fingers, but this trend to trade private information into retail currency is disturbing.

It seems that anyone with a website can jump into online dating, without needing technical or even customer relation skills. Or even an identity of their own.

This makes it more important than ever to know who you are giving your personal and credit information to.

Just because a website has a login doesn’t mean they are secure, or even not out to sell your information later on. This is a trend that many “free dating services” are starting to get involved in. Your personal information is the currency they use to make money, selling your email, allowing third party advertising and even selling your dating profile to other dating services.

aLoveLinksPlus.com is now more than ever being stringent in the review process and not just publishing reviews of good, and great, dating services but also putting notices about the “not entirely safe” services that are online.

Should you ever have a question about a particular dating service, even if it hasn’t yet been reviewed, email me.

I’m only a few electrons away. (www.alovelinksplus.com/contact.htm)

Answers to popular Valentine ’s Day Questions

Want to do when you like a girl?

The best advice here is to smile her way. Not a great bog goofy grin but a regular welcoming smile. Hopefully she’ll smile back then you can approach her and start some small-talk conversation.

When to ask for a second date?

After the first date, obviously. But seriously, ask her for a second date in a call about three days after the first date. Don’t rush things. Keep to the dating rules and you’ll do fine.

How to know if a girl is interested?

Watch for her body language to be in an accepting position, arms at her side or on the table, just not crossed, slight smile, talks nervously or a little more animated (energetic) than usual, pulls at her sleeve, her lip, her hair. Looks away shyly when she sees you looking at her. Is she interested?

You could always just ask her “Hey, do you like me?” but for most guys that’s just too much to know. The fear of finding out that she actually does not like you is worse than asking her. But that’s 1) not sane; 2) stupid; and 3) you’ve got to find his out one way or another if you’re ever going to get a date, or heck, even be able to talk to her!

How to talk dirty?

Ahh, well, ummm… ask your parents. Or better yet, there are some great books that discuss ‘creating the mood’ that will answer this question better than I.

Does a ‘friend with benefits’ get a Valentines Day card?

No. Unless you’re attempting to get your ‘friend’ to actually date you. But hey, you’re already having sex why spend the money on a card? Seriously, stop the sexual part of the relationship and see if you can start over, as a real couple. If you can, great, if not… well, at least you know where you stand. Now go get an HIV test, pronto.

When you’re online dating what should you say in your second email?

Hi again.Really, say that. Then talk about whatever subject was brought up in the first email to you. Add some personal humor stories (you’ll never believe what happened to me the other day…), some stories about news and events where you live. No complaining, bitching, no sad stories. You want this person to like you, right? Don’t show yourself as a whiny complainer. And always proof-read your emails before you send them. No onne likes to have to unkderstand whiat you’re saying through the misspelllihngs.

Things to do on a first date?

Whatever is cheap and fun. Don’t spend a lot of money. Go to the zoo. Go bowling. That’s right, interactive fun things that you can both participate equally at. No movies, no dinners. Maybe a dessert somewhere, some window shopping. No introducing him/her to your parents and definitely no combined dates with your friends. Think of this first date a something that you can both do together and enjoy that isn’t a movie or a drunken keg crawl.
